We are finding that some users switching to Microsoft's "new Outlook" version are experiencing problems.
Therefore, we do not recommend switching to the new Outlook at this time.
Microsoft has made some changes in the way email accounts are managed and mail is synchronized in the latest version of Outlook ("New Outlook").
Although IMAP is still supported, some features may work differently than in the classic version of Outlook. Also, some features are currently missing, such as support for the familiar .pst files.
Problems manifest themselves in things like emails no longer coming in and/or being sent, as well as email that works through the app on mobile devices but no longer works through the Outlook client on the computer.
When adding an IMAP account, make sure that all server settings are entered correctly.
Refer to the following article for the correct settings.
You may still be able to use the new Outlook this way. When setting up the account, choose "sync via IMAP".
If you are experiencing problems with IMAP in the new Outlook, you can consider to continue using Outlook Classic as long as it is available.
If you do not find it on your PC, you can currently download it via this link.
There are several alternative e-mail clients that are just as good as Microsoft Outlook and fully support IMAP, such as Thunderbird or Apple Mail.
In addition, you can always access and send your e-mails through the Kinamo webmail.
Open Outlook and go to File → Info
If you see the option to switch back to "Outlook Classic," you are using the new version
If this option is missing, you are probably still using the classic version
The new Outlook still supports IMAP, but you may experience some limitations compared to the classic version. Make sure you are using the correct settings or consider alternative solutions if you are experiencing problems.
If it doesn't work or you get another error message, you may want to contact our support so we can check if the problem is not due to a full mailbox, for example.
