Setting up your Kinamo email address in the Apple Mail application on your Mac is a simple process in five steps.
This guide explains how to add your account, correctly configure the server settings, and ensure that your emails are sent and received without any issues.
As Apple Mail is regularly updated and the interface may vary slightly between versions, some screens might look a bit different. If anything is unclear or you have any questions, our support team is always available to assist you.

Step 1: Launch the Mail app
- Open the Mail app on your Mac.
- Click Mail in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- Select Accounts from the dropdown menu.
- Click the + button at the bottom left to add a new account.
Step 2: Enter your email address
- In the list of email providers, select Other Mail Account at the bottom of the list.
- Click Continue.
- Enter your account details:
- Name: The name displayed when you send emails (e.g., John Doe).
- Email Address: Enter your full email address (e.g., yourname@domain.com).
- Password: Enter your email account password.
- Username: Enter your email address again (e.g., yourname@domain.com).
- Click Log in.
Step 3: Choose IMAP
- Select IMAP as the account type.
- Set up the mail servers:
- Incoming Mail Server: in.kinamo.be
- Outgoing Mail Server: out.kinamo.be - Click Log in.
Step 4: Select which apps to use
- Choose the apps you want to use with this account (e.g., Mail and/or Notes).
- Click Done.
Step 5: Adjust server settings
- Go to Mail > Settings > Accounts > Server Settings.
- Configure the settings for incoming mail (IMAP):
- Server Address: in.kinamo.be
- Uncheck Automatically manage connection settings.
- Port: 993
- Check Use TLS/SSL.
- Authentication: Choose Password. - Configure the settings for outgoing mail (SMTP):
- Server Address: out.kinamo.be
- Port: 587 (STARTTLS) or 465 (SSL/TLS).
- Authentication: Choose Password. - Click the button at the bottom to save the server settings.
Step 6: Test your email account
- Send a test email from your new mailbox to another email address.
- Also, send a test email to your new mailbox.
- Check if the emails are sent and received successfully.
