How can I move (transfer) a .com, .net or .org domain name?

Last updated: 07/06/2018

Applies to Kinamo domain names.

If you would like to move (transfer) a domain name (tpically com, .net or .org) from your current registrar to Kinamo you will have to ask two things:

  • Ask them to remove the transfer lock of the domain name, this allows us to request a transfer of the domain name;
  • Ask them the authorization code or token. This code allows us to request the transfer;

Without these two elements, we are unable to fulfill the transfer request and the transfer of a .com, .net or .org domain name is nearly impossible.

Keep in mind that after entering the auth code or token a mail will be sent to the "owner", so make sure that the e-mail address associated with the domain name with your current agent is active.
If this e-mail address is not active, and you have this changed with your current agent, the domain name will be put in a transfer lock mode (eg for .com domain names) and you will not be able to move the domain name for 60 days. This because of a security measure from ICANN.
