Create an SSL certificate request for Tomcat

The Tomcat web server makes use of the Java keystore and the keytool utility for SSL certificate management. In order to generate an SSL Certificate Signing Request to use with your Tomcat web server, please read the « How do I generate an SSL certificate request (CSR) with keytool » article.

If you have already obtained your SSL certificate from the Certificate Authority, there are two steps to install it.

First, you should import the SSL certificate into the keystore . Instructions on how to accomplish this can be found at « How do I install an SSL certificate with keytool ».
