Danny De Vos (b. 1967) published his first children's novel, "How Napoleon Celebrated His Birthday," in 2015. Since then, he has written more than 11 books. In addition to readings in schools and libraries, Danny De Vos also teaches writing courses.
Late 2019, Danny asked us to take a look at his previous website. Both the content and the layout no longer met his goals and needs.
It was time to move his "Foxes" (that's how Danny calls his books) into a new online "fox hole".
He was looking for a website that would both appeal in a playful way to his young readers but also still be business-like enough to appeal to adults and even companies for his business writing courses.
Of course visitors can find an overview of all Danny De Vos's books on the website. For many of his books, children and schools can download additional teaching materials, discover fun videos and even find links as well as listen to his books as audio books.
Reading a book is fun. Being read a book aloud in an animated way with singing and guitar by Danny De Vos is super fun. In the readingssection, libraries and schools can find the information they need to book Danny for a reading.
The website is also aimed at employees and companies looking for business writing training. Participants learn how stronger writing skills will allow them to function better within an organization or network. Emphasis is placed on the importance of readable business writing. The pitfalls and the principles of readability are discussed in detail during the training.
Because of this business target group we had to find a balance between a playful and business like design.
For the development of the website, we chose to work with WordPress CMS. Visitors can easily contact Danny via the website thanks to eye-catching contact blocks on the various pages and a button in the navigation. The website is developed in such a way that Danny himself can easily add new content such as news and books.
Stop by and find out how we can create a fun yet efficient website for you too.
