Finding the perfect match between employee and employer

Axis Group strives to find the perfect match between employee and employer. Since 1996, they have been helping clients with selection & interim, executive search and outsourcing. It doesn't stop there: Axis Advice supports companies with advice on personnel management, HR processes and employer branding. Through Axis Learning, they respond to the needs of companies and candidates by providing sector-specific training and customized courses. The company has offices in Antwerp, Brussels and Luxembourg.

The assignment

Axis Group had been relying on Kinamo's services for many years to manage its web server, among other things. In 2020, this cooperation expanded further with the development of a new website.

The main objective for the new website was to ensure that candidates can quickly find and apply for the ideal job. An additional objective is to attract companies so that they want to cooperate with Axis for their recruitment. To do this, the website needed to bring both the Axis brand and its services to life in a clear way.

From blueprint to development

Based on a thorough analysis of Axis Group's target groups, needs and a wish list, we first developed the website in wireframes. These schematic blueprints show the structure of the website without detailed graphical elements. That way, the maximum focus is on placing content, functionalities and navigational elements that are going to help visitors achieve their goals on the website.

After defining the wireframes and based on the existing corporate identity, we created a refreshing design.

Craft CMS was chosen for development. The choice for this CMS was obvious in view of needs, technical challenges and integrations.
The powerful and flexible content management system is based on a high-quality code base, allowing you to confidently continue building a website tailored to your needs. Unlike many other CMS solutions, Craft CMS is also multilingual by default, an absolute plus for this project.

Behind the scenes

That a website is often more than a "front end" also proves this project. The Axis website is therefore packed with specific custom developed functionality, perfectly integrated with the Craft CMS. Some examples:

• Smooth link between the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and the website: consultants can enter and modify jobs in the ATS system. Jobs are automatically and immediately published on the website.
• Use of Artificial Intelligence: job consultants enter a job in their preferred language in the ATS system. The website automatically starts offering a high-quality translation of the job in 3 languages thanks to an AI integration.
• Automatic job feeds: to extend its reach, Axis also advertises its jobs on a number of job channels.
• Kinamo has developed a special extension in Craft CMS that allows Axis to create a job feed via the management interface based on filters with a few clicks. This is read by the various job channels so that jobs automatically appear on those websites.
• Travel time calculation: candidates can check for each job how long it would take them to get to their new employer by car, public transport, bicycle or on foot.
• Job alert: visitors are notified when a new job becomes available that matches their criteria.
• Smart job filters: using smart filters, candidates can easily search by job content and location but also by things like pay scale and the ability to work from home.
• Quick and easy content management: in the user-friendly Craft CMS environment, we created a page builder for Axis that allows them to quickly build pages and edit content themselves.
